I made this fun cake for a baby’s first birthday. The request was for a lemon cake with strawberry filling, with a baby Dumbo and balloons.
I made Dumbo by painting a fondant piece with edible paint. And the balloons are all buttercream icing.
Yum!
Here’s a cake I made for a bridal shower.
It’s a delicious flavor combination: vanilla cake with lemon and blueberry fillings. I make this one a lot!
I made another wedding cake.
The couple sketched the cake themselves and I executed it.
Here was the sketch. When we spoke in person, we changed up some of the colors and reordered their initials (the bride comes first).
And here’s the cake!
It was a vanilla cake with vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream frosting and Sugar Plum jam filling.
I wanted to practice my buttercream flowers and made two pretty Flower Wreath Cakes.
Both are vanilla with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream.
This one was filled with Sugar Plum jam.
This one was filled with Blueberry jam and Lemon Curd.
I made another flower themed baby shower cake. This time it’s buttercream flowers though!
The cake is pumpkin flavored with cheese-cake filling and white chocolate buttercream.
So this was a strange cake for me to make because I’m a vegetarian. But it was perfect to bring to my office’s dessert potluck!
We did another baby shower at work. This one was for my direct coworker, so I went all out and made a Bouquet of Flowers cake.
This was a really fun cake to make! I’ve always loved these multicolor gradient effects but hadn’t done it myself yet.
It’s a boy!
This was for my friend’s vampire themed party. It’s a dark chocolate cake with raspberry filling.
Yum!! This cake was truly delicious. Chocolate cake, with Brown Sugar Buttercream, fresh raspberries, and raspberry filling.
Here’s a cake I made for a coworker’s birthday.
She loves the Warriors, so that was the theme for the cake.
Here’s the cake I made for my sister’s wedding. She’s a huge Doctor Who fan, so of course it had to be part of the wedding. She even had a Sonic Screwdriver bouquet!
This cake was made for a friend’s “Trashy Romance Novel” themed birthday party. A month before hand she jokingly asked that I put Trump’s face on her cake. And so I had to deliver. To make it a little more thematically appropriate, I also decided to give him fabulous Fabio hair. My only complaint was that I didn’t get him orange enough. Continue reading “Fabio Trump”
This was made for my boyfriend’s sister after her cake baker backed out last minute. I had never made a wedding cake before, but thought it would be a lot of fun. The experience making this cake is why I’m still baking cakes today and hope to make more wedding cakes soon.
These were some cupcakes made for St Patrick’s Day. The rainbows and Pots of Gold were from a wonderful Pinterest post I found and used Rolo’s, Airhead Extremes, and Gold pearls.Ā The others simply had a chocolate coin on top.
This carrot cake was made for two coworkers’ birthdays. I chose to make a carrot cakeĀ mostly because one of them really doesn’t like vegetables. But even he liked the carrot cake.
This was for a coworker’s birthday. She loves octupi and I wanted to practice drawing with buttercream, a match made in heaven! Her face when she saw it was priceless.
