My first wedding cake
This was made for my boyfriend’s sister after her cake baker backed out last minute. I had never made a wedding cake before, but thought it would be a lot of fun. The experience making this cake is why I’m still baking cakes today and hope to make more wedding cakes soon.
The flavors are white cake with mascarpone and raspberry filling. The frosting is a lemon buttercream. The bride wanted a simple design for her rustic wedding, so I piped some loops and used her flowers to accent it. The birds on top were picked out by the bride as well.
The cake was a huge hit!
